Ian became sick over the weekend, spiking a fever of 103. He tested negative for the flu and Covid, so it's anybodys guess what he contracted.

He was supposed to return to school today, however, when he woke up he came into my studio, snuggled on my lap and I said, "When I was sleeping, I coughed so hard I almost threw up." (Translation - I want to stay home today). I asked him, "What will make it better?" Ian, snuggling in closer and looking at me with those big brown eyes said, "You make everything better."

Guess who got to stay home from school today? 🤣🥰

I've had 3 days of snuggles like this. It reminds of his infant/toddler years, when he went everywher with me. While I am now days behind on work, I'm going to miss him tomorrow. ❤️ I know snuggles like this won't last forever.

I participated in the @theunionmt wedding event yesterday. Bozeman, you did not disappoint. From the beautiful location (thank you @achotelbozeman) to the amazing vendors who participated and the positively wonderful couples who came, it was truly a joy.

I love bridal shows for a few reasons...
1. I work by myself and enjoy the opportunity to talk with other vendors, couples, and, well, adults. I love my son, but I can only talk Minecraft for so long. 😍

2. Each show typically has a most asked question, and I love figuring it out. Yesterday, it was all about wedding trends. Specifically, what are they, and should the couples incorporate them? My answer? "I don't know."

I have never followed trends, and at the ripe old age of 45, I'm not about to start. I couldn't tell you what's "in" in any industry, home decor, fashion, travel spots, and yes, even weddings. I've always done my own thing and unapologetically stayed true to myself... which is what I tell any couple I visit with. The only "trend" I encourage is to do what makes you happy. If you love big, bold, and themed weddings, please have one. If you are a fan of neutrals and understated, please do it. Trends are exactly that, trends. But staying true to you? That never goes out of style. 💪🥰

Today would have been my grandparents' 71st wedding anniversary. 💕 Unfortunately, Grandma passed away a couple of years ago, but I know she is at peace (or raising hell...most likely raising hell 😂).

Grief is a funny thing. It comes with twists and turns, good days and bad. Eventually, our brain filters the memories and, hopefully, we're left remembering the best of them.

Grandma loved sapphires. Other than her grandchildren, sapphires were one of the things that made her radiate joy. I'm not sure if it was the sparkle, the deep blue color (her favorite), or if she held cherished memories with them. Unfortunately, I never thought to ask. In the hustle of everyday life, it's easy to think, "Tomorrow. I'll ask tomorrow.," until tomorrow doesn't come. So, while I'll never know the "why," her love of sapphires is a core memory I cherish deeply. Every time I see a sapphire, I'm reminded of her. What a blessing that is.

Attention! Attention! The USPS recently increased their postage rates. What does this mean for you?

If you are at the beginning of your stationery journey, fear not. You'll be able to incorporate the price increase into your stationery budget.

If you are in the process of mailing your invitation suite, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, bringing your fully assembled suite to your local post office and having it re-weighed, as there is the possibility that you'll need to purchase additional postage. 💌

👏 Wedding invitations are weird. 👏 There, I said it. They come with different timelines, peculiar pricing structures, odd quantities, and then there is the etiquette and wording anomaly. But, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE.

Sometimes, couples have to make tough choices when it comes to their wedding stationery, and it can be challenging to know where to splurge and where to save. That is where I come in. Regardless of your budget, my goal is for your invitations to perfectly reflect you and your special day. About 15 years ago, Doug and I decided to stop exchanging gifts at Christmas, but we sill wanted a meaningful way to celebrate. So we created our own tradition - SUPER HAPPY FUN DAY! As we celebrate Christmas and the birth of our Savior, I can't help but recall the many wonderful Christmas's I've had in my life. Want to know what I remember? Time. Time with family. Time with friends. Lots and lots of love and laughter. Want to know what I don't remember? Presents. Yep, I honestly don't recall a single gift I received growing up or as an adult....even Santa. But I do remember the love. ⁣

My son is now 7 years old and this brings a different type of magic to the holiday's. I love seeing his excitement and wonderment. And while, yes, presents are a big part of Christmas for him right now, I know that isn't what he'll remember. He'll remember the love. ⁣
Put down the phone. Be present. Make memories. Someday that is all you'll have left of the people you cherish most in this world.

🌟 You don't know what you don't know. As you embark on your wedding planning journey, ASK QUESTIONS, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it is.

I remember planning my wedding (19 years ago 😳), and I wanted tulips for my flowers. Now, mind you; I got married in October, so definitely not the season for tulips. My florist had an honest conversation with me and informed me that tulips would cost 4x that of roses because they aren't in season. Guess who went with roses? 🙋‍♀️

One of the most common things I hear when working with my couples is, "I didn't think I cared about my invitations. THANK YOU for making the process fun and showing us what is possible!"

You don't know what you don't know. Ask the questions. Get feedback. Make informed decisions.
